FRIENDS OF EAST SURREY HOSPITAL
HELPING FRIENDS OF EAST SURREY REACH MORE PEOPLE ONLINE AND SUPPORT THE HOSPITAL
For The Friends Of East Surrey Hospital website design, I was tasked with creating a user-friendly website that incorporated friendly fonts and colours and was easy to use with clear navigation. I conducted thorough UX research to identify the user persona and ensure that the website was tailored to their needs and preferences.
One of the main goals of the website was to create a simple donation system and membership application process. As part of this, I created an online form for donations and applications, which streamlined the process and made it more convenient for users.
Additionally, I worked to ensure that the website’s mission was clearly communicated and that it conveyed a friendly and approachable tone that represented the charity’s commitment to helping the local hospital. This was achieved through a careful selection of colours, fonts, and design elements that created a warm and welcoming feel.
Overall, my goal was to create a website that was easy to use, engaging, and effective at communicating the charity’s mission and impact.

To begin The Friends of East Surrey, I conducted comprehensive UX research, including creating a user persona, sitemap, and competitor analysis. The user persona helped me to understand our target audience’s goals, needs, and preferences, and the sitemap helped to plan the website’s structure and organisation. The competitor analysis allowed us to identify best practices and areas for improvement in the nonprofit sector.
Based on the results of the research, I created a mood board that captured the desired look and feel of the website, including friendly fonts, colours, and design elements that would resonate with our target audience. The mood board provided a visual direction and ensured that all design decisions aligned with our overall goals for the project.
From there, I began creating initial designs for the website, taking into account the user persona, sitemap, and mood board. These designs helped to establish the basic structure and layout of the website, as well as the key features and functionality that would be included.
Overall, by collaborating closely with the design and development teams, and by prioritising user feedback and testing, we were able to create a website that effectively represented the charity and its mission, while also providing a user-friendly and engaging experience for visitors.
The new designs for Friends of East Surrey Hospital had a positive impact on both users and the charity organisation itself. For users, the website was easy to use, visually engaging, and provided a clear understanding of the charity’s mission, goals, and services. The website’s clear navigation, simple donation system, and membership application process made it easy for users to support the charity and get involved in its initiatives.
For the charity, the website helped to increase its online presence and reach a wider audience. The website effectively communicated the charity’s mission, values, and services, helping to raise awareness and encourage support. Additionally, the website’s streamlined donation system and membership application process made it easier for the charity to manage donations and members, ultimately contributing to the charity’s success in achieving its goals.
